THE DES AND MONA LOVE STORY

CD Cover Des and Mona_edited.jpg

The Des and Mona love story gained international recognition in 2018, when Des asked for a makeup lesson from makeup artist, Rosie O’ Driscoll at Debenhams store, Waterford City, so he could do his wife’s Mona’s makeup for her, as her sight was failing. Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic got hold of the story and invited Des and Mona to a master class that he was giving in London. This lead to the BBC News broadcasting  the Des and Mona love story. It then went viral. Appearances followed on the This Morning show on ITV and the Late Late Show and Vogue Willams show on RTE.

Des played keyboard for the Waterford High Hopes Choir, a choir formed in 2014 by the renowned conductor David Brophy. The choir assists people in their recovery from addiction, mental health issues, serious illness and the effects of homelessness.

‘Inextricably Linked’ was written by the musical director of the Waterford High Hopes Choir, Martyn Travis.
